Job Overview
We are seeking a Product Engineer to develop, improve, and support synthetic-rope and specialty cable products throughout their life cycle. This role combines product design, manufacturing and process engineering, and performance testing to ensure products meet quality, performance, and production requirements.
Key Job Responsibilities
Duties will include but are not limited to:
- Develop and improve synthetic-rope products, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Support new product development from concept and prototyping through testing, qualification, and production.
- Analyze test data to evaluate product performance, identify issues, and validate improvements.
- Optimize manufacturing processes to improve safety, quality, efficiency, consistency, and cost.
- Maintain technical specifications, engineering documentation, and change-control records.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Quality, Sales, suppliers, and customers to resolve technical challenges and support product performance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Materials, Textile, Industrial, Process, Composites Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of manufacturing engineering experience.
- Experience using testing, data analysis, and structured problem-solving to improve products or processes.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, process controls, continuous improvement, and technical documentation.
- Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Willingness to travel up to 20%.
- Preferred:
- Experience with textiles, synthetic rope, braiding, composites, polymers, or high-performance fibers.
- Familiarity with SolidWorks, Lean Six Sigma, Kaizen, or 5S.
- Experience with materials testing, DOE, SPC, process capability analysis, and root-cause analysis.
- Experience with software development or artificial intelligence applications.
Work Environment
This is an on-site position with work split between office, manufacturing, laboratory, and testing environments. The role may involve handling materials and equipment, following established safety procedures, and occasional domestic or international travel.
